    Nitro Necks in Hot Weather

    There is not much you can do about it. Nitro is very poreous and absorbs the moisture and oils from your hands. The niro will remain sticky until it dries out. I usually gig with 2 guitars in the summer to better deal with this problem.

    Not sure who made it but my first electric guitar was a Lincoln Les Paul gold top copy that I picked up in a pawn shop in 1983. It played and sounded better than most guitars. I foolishly traded it for an Austin Hatchet V. :x

    any advise to avoid string oxidation?

    Purchasing strings in bulk on ebay would be a good alternative to the problem especially if you play a lot. Coatings and sprays wont help tone and certainly wont stop them from breaking.
