Greco Super Real Se-800 w/ rosewood fretboard

well I can't speak about where the rosewood came from...but I can say you have an awesome guitar. I've got the more common s800 with maple neck I bought from RyanC a couple years ago and it's so much better than every fender cs I've ever played it's not even funny. I bought mine for 1000. It was...

There is NOBODY on THIS FORUM!!! LOL

nice! way to wake up the forum! :D I still check here and miss how active it used to be. I post on mylespaul forum but feel like greco strat / tele posts will get bashed there. I'm still waiting to find out if SV guitars are as good as SA's. I'm dying to get a hollowbody greco / burny / tokai.

    SV versus SA Greco Hollowbodies?

I have seen a few Greco 335ish guitars on ebay and noticed SA's have gibson open book headstock while the SV's have more of an ibanez rounded headstock and weird Greco font in the logo. Do you guys have any other details about build quality of these? I think they were made in the early and mid...

What mods have you made to your Greco?

Nice! Yeah machine fret leveling and setup make a huge difference on a guitar. I also upgrade the tuners on my greco LP because there was slippage. I think they are vintage style schallers, but not sure. Now it's rock solid, stays in tune for weeks. I also recently bought a $10 strat ashtray...

What mods have you made to your Greco?

Thanks for the info on the Alameda jam. I have some cousins who grew up there. I'll have to check it out. That's pretty interesting that your custom shop and your vintage sound almost identical! I haven't seen that in my experience but great to know real gems are out there. I was in Brooklyn...

What mods have you made to your Greco?

Plek, is that like fret leveling? I see where gibson uses that term as a selling point for their lp standards. doesn't seem to help them, they still suck haha. But I have my guitars professionally set up and leveled if needed every few years.

What mods have you made to your Greco?

Marcus, gorgeous '65 and custom shop strats. How do the vintage versus custom shop compare in tone? I hope to someday get an original but I don't think I could keep it under the bed. I'd probably put it in a nondescript case and act like it's a mex-fender. My old guitar teacher sometimes leads a...

What mods have you made to your Greco?

Sorry if this is already a thread. I guess if no one else cares, this thread will die an early death... I know a lot of you like to keep things stock. But I am a constant tinkerer looking for the best tone to my ears. And I figure there are others out there like me. I've had some successes and...

    Red Greco SE600

nice. I've heard brass bridges and saddles were the thing in the late 70s early 80s. My se800 is heavy enough. Best sounding strat I've ever owned. I'd love to try a 1000 or 1200.

    Red Greco SE600

I saw one of these "The Strat" Greco's a while back on fleebay. Tempted to pull the trigger. How do they sound with the brass saddles? Strats are already bright. Does it add sustain or something?

    greco with dry 1982

nice score Otto! I've always wondered about those black covered dry 82s. I figured they were voiced like EMG blackouts or something so I avoided. Good to know they are like the rest. I have had the same experience with the greco trem on my strat. It stays in tune better than any usa fender...
