    LS320 Pickup advice.

My 2004 LS-320 also shipped with Seth Lovers. I don't think I knew there was any other option/choice back then. (I'd also bought a Yamaha push-push pot and asked Tokai if they would include a phase swap, but the answer was a diplomatic "no"!)

    1982/83 Block Logo Gallery

I missed your q before, but here's my experience and understanding: * before 1983, the '7okai' logo was on all F-style vintage copies. It was on the guitar reviews I saw back then. * in 1983, I buy my first Tokai. I order it unseen on the strength of the stellar guitar magazine reviews. I was...

    1983 Tokai Goldstar neck

1983 Tokai Goldstar body The matching part to the neck above. In Candy Apple Red metallic, and in great condition for 40 years of age. No paint chips, just a few small dings and surface marks here and there. Paint has sunk into the body and shows some of the grain lines, as usual. Includes the...

    1983 Tokai Goldstar neck

1983 Tokai Goldstar neck Now 40 years old! Which makes me even older. :( Block 'TOKAI' logo, maple with skunk stripe, very little wear. - nothing through the fingerboard pacquer. Vintage style, so with a fairly tight radius - 7.25" (I think). One very small ding on the beck of the neck. Shown...

    1983 Tokai Goldstar neck

Yes, the two came together (at least in my ownership). I will separate them and photograph them and their codes and add the photos here.

    RIP Jeff Beck

This news hits hard. It took me a long time to really appreciate Beck's skill. :( What he could do with his deftness of touch, and coaxing so many tones with just his phrasing and dynamics. Amazing, and so magical that I never tried to learn his tracks.

    1983 Tokai Goldstar neck

This is my last F-style Tokai, a 'BLOCK' logo Goldstar - one of the first from 1983 with the correct headstock shape. I've had about 8 Tokais through the years, but I've slowly cut them down to this one and my LS-320. The neck is the only part left! See below.

Flying V is it worth a refurb.

Tokai Vees are all over the place in terms of pricing. I sold my rare Michael Schenker model (1984, I think) a few years ago, and it took quite a while, and I had to drop the price a bit to sell. Of course, the B/W colour scheme stands out like a sore thumb and isn't popular with all...

    2000 LS-320 Goldtop - What have I purchased?

Late to the thread, but Yoshi at GS Universe definitely has/had a fairly influential relationship with Tokai. It was Yoshi who negotiated with Tokai for them to make me a one-piece-top LS-320 in about 2002. It took him a while to persuade them and/or them a long time to find a suitable piece of...

The Earliest Tokai Les Paul Reborn LPs 1978 ?

I'm sure it was, but I didn't make a note of that. (I only noted model names later - for the period of the Reborn Old / Love Rock name changes.)

The Earliest Tokai Les Paul Reborn LPs 1978 ?

Earliest I ever saw was on Yahoo Japan sometime in the early 2000s, when I was a nerd for Tokai research. :) That one was 8000349 and my notes show it was an LS80 with double-ring Kluson clones and a 'bell' style truss rod cover. If I saved photos back then, I have no idea where they are now...
