Wow. I was just thinking about him the other day and realized that was his voice on Tush. Funny how you hear something a million times then one time look at it differently.

Rest In Peace. Good soul.

Yeah. Whatever they call themselves I would guess Billy will be playing a guitar til his dying day. And likely gather an audience whenever he wants one. Cool cat.

Maybe this is to honor the already booked tour dates but you're probably right about Billy G

Makes sense. Looks like Elwood was Billy’s guitar tech.

Netflix has a ZZ Top documentary that is really excellent. Watch it if you get a chance.

I had completely forgotten about the World Wide Texas Tour with all the animals on stage.

Billy Gibbons gave an interview one day later in Variety explaining why they continue the tour:

Dusty Hill's wife posted on Facebook, too:

Dusty also sang Francine, Hi Fi Mama, and I think Party On The Patio. He also traded verses with Billy on Heard It On The X, Beer Drinkers / Hell Raisers. Dusty had a very distinct voice and it really made the songs he sang.

You’re right! Beer Drinkers/Hell Raisers. I can hear the back and forth in my head. Thanks for pointing that out.

He-uh-ellll raiser-herrrrrrs yeah, girl, baby don’t you wanna come with me?

Indelible imprint on my brain.

Ride on brother.

Dusty's role as a lead singer is often underestimated, he was singing the high notes most of the times, e.g. in HiFi Mama and Dust My Broom or some lines in It's Only Love, but also the Elvis tunes like Viva Las Vegas or Jailhouse Rock. Covering the songs where he sings is definitely more exhausting 100%.

Maybe I should create a Spotify playlist with all ZZ songs where Dusty sings. Looks like someone already did:

Favorite line: "But I might not have no tongue to blow!"

ZZ Tops cover of Viva Las Vegas is freaking awesome. Definitely worth a listen.
