Hi Guys - whats this? ST looking with a strange neck. Haven't seen that decal before.

A guy on FB has confirmed it as an “Original Series” “OST-50” 1985.
 
Weird to see an original series guitar with a traditional Strat body.

Also it has a one ply pick guard with a 3 tone sunburst...

Are you sure this is legit? Did that other guy have a catalog shot or anything to back up that claim?

This sounds like BS.....

The neck plate has a serial number similar to Fujigen (January 1980). The headstock has a different serial… :roll:

So the neck does not go with the body, the pick guard does not go with the body, the serial numbers are different, one from a different mfr. Heck, the knobs don't even match each other.

Mongrel like mdvineng said. Run away.

Btw, the “T” in Tokai on the headstock is a “7” more like the old spaghetti logo. That logo dates the neck to 1983/84.
