Seems like a good price for a vintage Springy with a one piece ash body. My ST100 is basically the same thing with a fancy neck. That thing is a beast. Lightweight, resonant, even unplugged. Someone will be happy with that guitar at that price.

body looks like 2 piece/center seam, from the pics; at least to my eyes

body lumber looks like alder with the mineral streaking

I'm sure it sounds great but again, not a show stopper, by any means

I'm sure it will float someone's boat :)

I thought all ST80s of this period were one piece?

I see what you are saying, it is hard to tell. Could also be mineral streaks?

I'll post pics of what I am looking at, but I see what you are saying.

If it is two piece, it is an anomaly and I would pass at this price too.

the photo of the back between the tremolo route & the body end; there is a seam there, more pronounced visually at the route, and to a lesser degree toward the body end but it is no doubt a join

I had a much debated 1979 TE80 that had a 2 piece center seam body, so I know it happens.

So that guitar is basically an ST60 with an 80 sticker?
80 would be laqeur finish and the pickups are different.

Most bodies and necks are mostly the same throughout the range, multi piece bodies lower down etc.

Tokai used 2<4 pieces for the bodies around this time with some Sen bodies in 1 piece if the grain was spectacular for bursts and natural.

Hmmmm. Interesting. Maybe I got the one piece for the 80 series from Love Rocks? Learned something today.

And don’t ST60s have E pickups? I know some did.

ST60 70 80 was the A set up including E pups

ST100 120 were A's too but with DiMarzio VS1 pu's

The above is to early 80, after which the A n B stopped.

Then the U and E pu's are used, so up to ST50 U & 60 and above E and some with VS-1

ST VINTAGE MK11 < ST45

ST. VINTAGE U or VII < ST50

ST VINTAGE. E, V <ST70

ST VINTAGE E or VS-1 < ST120
