I thought most inkies were LS50s. Are there other LS80s that have popped up?

Interesting. I’m guessing the idea was to stabilize the neck? Or using up smaller pieces of wood?

I’ve assumed that solid, undivided pieces in a guitar are better for resonance, but I’m rethinking that. Guitars are so individual. And many painted body guitars are two or three pieces. And I do like some metallic paints.

That's probably another thread too... 8)

The 2 piece/center line neck would typically (in theory) offer a stronger neck, less likely to bow, twist, warp, etc. & it would potentially be a costs savings, over a larger, single piece of lumber for a 1 piece neck.

It would be the proverbial killing two birds with one stone concept.

They are both of my guitars. The 1978 LS-80 has a 1-piece neck. I’ve owned a few and they were 2-piece necks.
You can find the guitars also here. Www.CliffsGuitarWorld.com

I’m about 50 guitars behind on posting to my Fliker page and website, including (2) more Tokai LS-200’s and lots more.
