reverb ST-80 can you guys let me know if you think genuine?

according to this website (this one TGR) on the dating fender copies section it says ST80 serial number should be 4 digits

You are confusing yourself.
Why are you looking at ser # for 82 onwards when you are wanting to buy a 78?

The ser # system changed in 82 to reflect which model and era of Fender they were replicating.
 
1977/1978 Springy's are considered first year issues for them. They are unique in that the early issues (up to mid year 78) had narrow neck plates which will not fit a serial number as you've shown. The serial numbers were inked on the bottom of the neck heel and the model number inked in the neck pocket. Around mid 78, they went to the wider neck plate with the serial number stamped on it like yours. Your serial number does match up to these later 78's. Nice guitar - good price too.
