Hi!

First of all, soyy for my english, I´m front Spain and I have not much level in English.

Few weeks ago I bought a Fernandes guitar, it was bought like a Japanese sfr 50 (1998) but I could not find information about this model or his procedence. Does anyone know something about this Fernandes guitar? Could someone give me some information about it?

Hi, try this https://www.vintagejapanguitars.com.br/en/fernandes-burny-1998-catalogue/

Thanks!

I had already seen the catalogs (from 1990 to 2002) and I have not found one that is exactly the same. There are many similar models, but there is always something that changes. In this case, for example, change both the bridge and the pickguard.

My main question is to know if it is Japanese or Chinese, because they sold it to me as Japanese, but I have found photos of the same model with slight differences from mine:

- The logo is gold, mine is silver.
- The tuning machines are gotoh, mine are not.
- "Made in Japan" appears on the back plate, not mine.

Is there a way to know for sure if it is Japanese?

Greetings.

My opinion is Chinese or Korean from the pictures and the model number. All the high level models are still made in Japan but the rest are out sourced. You might find some evidence under the pick guard.

Can you read anything on the pots like country made in? Looking anything but Japan but don't worry too much about that if it feels good and sounds the way want.
