Here we are in July. I have found this excerpt from good old Wikipedia:

There were also some transitional Greco models from 1981/1982 that have a mixture of "Super Real Series" and "Mint Collection Series" features such as a "Super Real" model with an open O letter in the Greco logo instead of a closed O letter. The Super Real EGF (flametop) and EG series higher end models featured nitrocellulose lacquer finishes and fret edge binding and some of the Super Real lower end models also featured fret edge binding

The mystery continues.

I agree with Mark, it's a Tokai Made SA guitar. I had and sold one myself... Dead give away is the masking tape removed in
neck pocket and square rooting for the pickup feet in the body.

I think I may have uncovered some moreleads. This guitar is very similar to mine and although mis-named as a Super Real it states:

1982 Greco SA59-120 Super Real

Serial # 2 2283
1st Year of the Mint Collection Guitar and is a Transitional Model
This is the highest ES Model made by Greco from 1982-up

Mine has no serial # you will recall but it looks right, down to the open "O}". So it might be an SA59-120?

Listed here (not mine):

This is my guitar... Yes its a 1982 SA59-120 Super Real. in 1982 this is known as a Transitional Model with the features of the 1980-81 SA-1200 and the mint collection that started in 1982. Fujigen was very smart not just throwing away necks and bodies. Check the label, it states " Super Real Model.

As for Tokai Built SA Models.... quick giveaway is the neck tenon is offset towards the low "E" string and square routing, neither of which are included in my 1982 SA59-120.

More pictures... 1982 Greco SA59-120 https://cliffsguitarworld.com/ols/produ ... super-real

Did Tokai make Greco ES guitars before 1982? After?

And were they made in Hamamatsu or Nagano?

I’m aware of the LPs with doweled neck tenons pointing to Nagano crossover. Also some low end ST and SS Tokai models with Fujigen routing.

Just wondering where this fits with that?

I had assumed Greco was a Fujigen brand, so this is fascinating to see this cooperation on the ES. Especially if it’s after 1982.

Seems like I’m seeing gold bottom pickups with gray/black wire in all three guitars (including linked older thread). Marked GOTOH in winniethomas’ example.

Very similar to what I believe are 90s versions of Gotoh MK2s.

These similar Gotohs are marked LP-A

Marked like the later green and yellow wire pre Keiyo MK2 versions that read in the 8.5kohm range from the mid 2000s.
