Hi, I just bought a Tokai model 32, which according to the seller (shop in Copenhagen), is from the 80’
A part from that I don’t know anything about the story and value of this guitar. Almost nothing on the internet. Is it because it’s rare or simply a not great guitar?

Looks really nice with a lot of details, well made and robust, sounds also good. All it says on the sticker inside the guitar is:
Tokai
Model 32
Guitar of quality
Made in Japan

No serial number, nothing else…

Just wondering if somebody knows more about it, I took some pictures available here https://www.flickr.com/photos/126400352@N05/shares/7u9ZWm

I believe your guitar is from the mid 1970s? There is not a lot of information on Tokai guitars from this period. The truss rod cover is the giveaway.

Tokai made similar guitars for Sigma in this period with the truss rod cover and then moved the adjustment to a more traditional Martin style design for the Sigma and Cats Eyes line.

Some early Tokai guitars:

Thank you! I think I am going to write to Tokaiguitars directly, they mist have more details, no? Although the chances that they’ll reply are high : )

Tokai was recently sold to new owners. I doubt they would have knowledge of these nearly 50 year old guitars, but worth a try.
