hi,ive got a few tokai guitars one being the hbd 80 n accoustic guitar with the tree of life inlay on fret board,any one have any info re prices or years of manufacture for this model.ive been searching for ages and cant find any details other than the usual blurb.i dont even know if this model is still in production.any info will be most helpful.cheers.

Hi bought this guitar today obviously second/third hand and in immaculate condition, did you ever find out about yours?

I googled that guitar. Amazing.

Humming Bird was a brand Tokai made in the early 1970s.

Does it say hummingbird or Tokai on the headstock or on a label if it has one?

There was another one of these that shows up in a web search through an old eBay auction. That guitar had burn marks from a cigarette on the soundboard and headstock.

Looks like a pretty rare guitar though. Would love to see pictures.

Nice guitar. Looks a lot like a Terada built T. Haruo I used to have.
I heard they threatened Tokai with a lawsuit, but they never got to Cort?

Interesting old eBay auction with some info.

Different bridge and binding/purfling, but looked like same vine inlay from what I could see online.
