So then what does that mean about my DS250....because it's an earlier one regarding the pickups?

So they were essentially "beefed up" SSL 1's? But they didn't call them that?

Where did you get that information that 'Beefed up' stands for 'SSL-1 Power Boost'. ?

As for the finish on that 280...well yeah if it's been worn like that over time it's going to look faded. What about a 280 that's been kept in "like new" condition? What do those look like?

Still seems to me like a lot of speculative information without much substance aside from you making observations based on that one 280.

You do as you like, Soundcreation.
If my answers, based on my modest experience, seem to you like a lot of speculative information, please pay no attention to it.

All I can tell you is that a mint condition DS-280R (as the other one I own, presented below) looks like exactly the same. And it can't be confused with an all lacquer DS-250R.
I experience it daily.

Where did I also get that information that 'Beefed up' stands for 'SSL-1 Power Boost' ?
It's written in black and white on the bottom of the pickups.

Swamp ash was pretty common on the Traditionals. I've seen a lot of them over the years on yahoo auctions japan.

Nice score. Even the traditions have specs that rival fender custom shop guitars.

Hi all .just like to add my thoughts on these great guitars .in 2008 i got one a DS110 2ts 2 piece ash body maple neck. I paid $600 us for it ,at the time i had no idea of the high standard of timbers and workmanship that is used in this Esp product. mine is custom shop standard no risk. been into Japanese guitars since late 70s .still got a collection.still buying They just keep building awesome axes. hope the duncans remain in their semi sleeper status for awhile yet i .would like to get a tele but might be a little more $s now. cheers.

Adding to this great thread.

Flame neck Seymour Duncan P bass.

バリ虎 ダンカン 優美音響 PB Seymour Duncan プ... - ヤフオク!

● Duncan Prevet model in the graceful sound era

● Head logo, CTS pot FN84, early period: 1984- Years around 1985

● The neck is a wonderful flame maple, and I think this neck is quite rare for Duncan PB in the graceful acoustic period. Although it is via the cable from the output jack, the current Antiquity PB is "11.0k" in the following site notation by tester measurement, but it has been confirmed that the DC resistance value is almost the same (see photo).

SEYMOUR DUNCAN “AQ-2 PB” ANTIQUITY II P-Bass

(We have confirmed that both volume and tone can be changed by contact with the pole piece.)

● Truss rod, confirmed to turn left and right

● Ebony fingerboard, body In terms of total weight (see photo), I think it's alder, but please judge it carefully by the grain. (see photo). I don't know if it's genuine, so I put it back in.

● Since we have not checked the fine adjustment by stretching the strings, there is a possibility that there is a fine gully, and we do not know the details other than the above. Please take a good look at the photos and consider bidding.
