And if you’re there, maybe ask again if they found any old records? Might get a different response in person? Worth a try.
I seem to have gotten the impression that records were not kept beyond 10 years which is heartbreaking. Oh to be a dumpster diver in Hamamatsu in the 80s. 8)

I would like ES production again. I just recall back in 2002 watching late Suyama-san crafting one!
I also suggest interviewing to Tokai manager plant also if it is possible (not sure about this).

I don't know if it's possible. But I would like to see where they are stocking their woods.

And one thing that is always interesting for me, but is the rumor true that they don't have any kind of CNC ?

They definitely use CNC, and were in fact pioneers using it for guitar making.
