Hi all, long time no here!
I've recently purchased what was advertised as a Love Rock LS150, but I've found out that it is made in Korea.
I
The seller insists that they were manufactured in Korea for a period but I can't find anything to confirm this?

If any of you learned folks can help me out it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I don't have it yet, but these are the pics the seller uploaded

Hmmmm. White covers and export dimple suggest it could be Korean, but it looks like it has a serial number? And I can't see all of it.

Can you get better pictures of the serial number?

Unfortunately not and it's apparently already packed for the courier. He did also mention the full size pots, which is not typical of most MIK gut shots I've seen. But I still can't find anything on the net about Korean LS150 Love Rocks. The seller seems genuine enough and I did hastily hit that "buy now" so I guess I'll find out more when it arrives. It'll be interesting to compare to my MIJ.

Ok. Any pictures of the face of the headstock? The TRC can tell you a lot. Also the logo sometimes.

That's exactly what I was asking for pics of. I've heard of the MIK Limited edition 2001 models that were made to Japanese specs that are well regarded, so that's my best hope at this stage. Funny enough I paid the same price for my MIJ so again, the comparison will be interesting.
If anyone is curious I'll post some pics when it arrives.

Thanks again, cheers!

The LS150 was never made in Korea. The seller is BS'ing you. Red flag #1.

There's a lot of weird stuff going on in those pictures, and the faded serial is a red flag as well, do you have any shots of the front of the headstock? At this point I'm not even sure you could say it's a Tokai.

Do you have any info about any mods that it's had? Because if it is a real Tokai it's had a lot of work done.

I'm worried for you.

So we can all see the pics you linked:

So you never saw the face of the headstock before you bought it?

Was it just an insanely low price?

I own an LS150F. The serial on mine is embossed in to the head, like post 60s Gibsons, not ink-stamped, so 'the faded serial' description, baffles me somewhat.
The 'Made In Japan' is ink-stamped, under the lacquer, on the back of the head.
As far as the pots go, it was fitted with CTS pots, though I don't get excited about that - they're no better/worse than the "cheap" pots.
