Hi there .. purchased a ivory tokai les paul custom the other day .
Serial number FC0608990

Can’t quite tell the year .. possibly 06 but most importantly the country of manufacture .
Was wondering if anyone could help with identification.
Thanks all in advance ..

Morning all .. thank you for your replies .
When I purchased the guitar the seller hinted at it being a Korean model ?
I also started to think it was a fake .. as the tokia logo is slightly off centre and the emblem isn’t as defined as some others I’ve seen .
Also the fact it doesn’t have a country of manufacture stamped on the rear was another concern .
If you don’t mind mind ..can I ask what told you it was made in china.. what was the defining feature .

Cheers all
Adam

No genuine MIK Tokai models have or had serial numbers
outside of possibly 2006 Fine Corp "FC" or "F" prefix models
if these were in fact produced in Korea and not China,

FC is Fine Corp, only if it's from Korea but there are now FC ser#'s coming out of China.

How do you tell the difference? Did the Fine Corp Korean guitars not have a serial number?

Korean numbers are generally large and bold in size and around 6 digits. Chinese style is smaller and 7 or more digits from what I have seen

Preserving a photo of the serial number.

Interesting that it is an '06 number like Reborn Old referred to. At the time, he suggested these may in fact be Chinese.
