This seems to have been a weird period at Tokai. Quite a few changes in what had been consistent & predictable production patterns.

Partial list:

Logo went from Spaghetti>Block>Script style (end of 1982>1984)

4, 5, & 6 digit serial number
TST AST & Goldstars (not Fender style system. 1985?).

Serial numbers embossed on plastic trem cover on some Silver Stars (1984 & 1985)

Change in production code symbol from "=" to "-" (1985>)

Love Rock model changes and inconsistencies including use of sycamore on tops instead of maple on some guitars (1983>).

Any others?

By 1984/85 the LS80 now had a laminated flamed maple top.

I had one in 2013 that I was sure was not a flamed maple laminate, but flamed sycamore laminate over a 2 piece maple cap.
