Just noting the changes in the type and placement of serial numbers on Fender style Tokais over time.

Beginning with the first Springys made in 1977 serial numbers were hidden and ink stamped on the neck inside the neck pockets and indicated the year made.

Then serial numbers were stamped on the relatively small neck plate also indicating year made

Then a slightly bigger neck plate was used still indicating the year made. Note she slightly smaller distance from screw head to the edge of the plate.

Then by Feb. 1, 1982 serial numbers were switched to a Fender style system that did not indicate year made.

Around 1985 some Silver Stars had numbers stamped on the plastic trem cover.

Then sometime around 1986/87 (?) some odd 6 digit Goldstars and Breezys appeared.

Then in the 90s (?) continuing to the present Tokai Japan switched to ink numbers on the neck heel under the finish that once again indicated the year made.
