I recently sold a beautiful Gibson Custom Shop ES355, which I’d owned for about ten years. No VariTone, no stereo, no Bigsby,but guitar weighed about 9.25 lbs., and we never really bonded. Too pretty,big,heavy,expensive. Sounded good, but seldom left the house.
Last week, a friend received a new Tokai ES-224 from Japan. Beautiful guitar, exquisitely made, sounds great. Weighs about 7.5 lbs., like my Telecasters.
I don’t think I’ve ever played a 335 this light. How did Tokai do it?
