My neighbor was going to throw away a Tokai 7645 and when he saw me in the yard he offered it to me. (He isn't a guitar player & he was cleaning out his attic. The guitar had belonged to his son.) I offered to pay him but he thanked me for taking it off his hands (he also gave me a nice banjo...which I don't yet play.) Anyway, I like the Tokai better than my Takemine & Martin. I can't find any info on the 7645 acoustic Tokai. Does anyone know anything about it?

Do you have any photo's of the guitar you could post on here ?

There is a very useful japanese website for Tokai's acoustic guitars

http://members7.tsukaeru.net/levante40/

The webmaster of the above site is a very helpful chap called Kazuhiro Yoshida

His email address is [email protected].

If you could email photo's it would be a great help.

I've looked through Kazuhiro's site and cannot find your guitar. I seem to remember from earlier postings on here that Tokai made guitars for an american distributor in the '70's. You may have one of those.

Is it a D45 shape ?

7645 may equate to a D45 copy made in 1976

Please let us know how you get on :D

I haven't broken the code on how to insert an image here. I have a picture of that model guitar I'll send to the person you mentioned. Thanks.
