Interestingly, Ian's Tokai Forum book pictures an ST55 Goldstar, presumably from before 1985.

He was calling the color MP, but I think the K in the code goes with the MP.

Body code 2=6=MPK

Thinking MPK is the color, metallic pink.

PP 52-53.

well spotted, I hadnt see the K :)

Hey Ian. Cool to see your post. I’ve worn out your book looking through it.

Here’s an MPK Goldstar posted in 2010 by stratman323. May be the same guitar?

Hi, it isnt the same guitar as Stratman323 asked me to remove all his guitars from the book. I think this one was from a member in Leeds - in fact the members name is on the book page in every photo, just cant see original thread while posting this. Iain

Its Gordon Maxwells for NW Australia, the Leeds one is the page before PP, pale pink?

Adding to the discussion. (And I almost bid on this one! Wish I had in retrospect!) My buddy Jon is well versed on japanese axes with an extensive vintage magazine collection. While trying to help me ID an EVH tokai, he sent me this. Check out the guitar in the top left. Looks like a Silver Star VH. Even more impressive, there is no bullet trussrod. That means it is the really hard to find SS-60 neck which was the copy of the 4-bolt CBS strat. Pretty cool! Alas not quite what this beautiful purple machine is. But evidence of 1H big headstocks for sure. Also, notice the factory scallop Blackmore strats!!
