Cat's Eyes "CE-1200T 1981"!
"Cat's Eyes" is an acoustic guitar brand launched in 1975 by Tokai Gakki, a company also famous for its electric guitars.
Tokai Gakki became the sole distributor of Martin in Japan in 1972 and formed a technical partnership with Martin, allowing Cat's Eyes to utilize Martin's technology and produce many highly refined models. It shows that the craftsmen of the time produced products of the highest quality with outstanding technical skills.
This "CE-1200T" is an OOO-28 style model that uses high quality materials that were only available in Japan at the time.
It has a flower pot inlay on the headstock and herringbone around the body, giving it a very luxurious feel.
The top is solid spruce.
The sides and back are rosewood.
The neck is mahogany.
The fingerboard and bridge are ebony.
The headstock has a mini flower pot inlay.
The body is herringbone-finished.
The tuning pegs are Tokai Kluson type.
Long saddle.
Tortoiseshell pickguard.
The nut, saddle, and frets have been replaced.
A strap pin has been added to the heel side.
This is a high-end model made from very high-quality materials, so it has excellent quality.
After about 40 years, it has a very dry sound.
There is a "Martin crack" on the outside, which runs along the inside of the pickguard from the sound hole to the bridge.
There is also a crack at the bottom of the bridge on the top of the body, but neither of them have any gaps.
There are repair marks around the 4th string tuning peg post on the head.
There are no other noticeable scratches, and the overall condition is very good.
The condition is perfect, including the neck and frets, and it has been set up perfectly.
