A rare auditorium custom model, Cat's Eyes CE-280T Custom (sn:91**81) is now in stock! This is a 2-owner custom 000-45 pre-war style model made by a veteran craftsman at Handcraft Selection with all his skill. It has original Kluson-type TOKAI engraved pegs, mini flower pot inlays on the head, snowflake position marks, and solid abalone decorations on the body top, sides, and back, fingerboard sides, sound hole rosette, and bridge. The top is made of Hokkaido pine, the sides and back are made of rosewood, the fingerboard is made of ebony, the bridge is made of ebony, and the saddle is long, making it a luxurious and attractive specification. If it is an old model from 1980, I think it would be the rosewood specification of the CE-2500T.
The condition is excellent with little signs of use and no pickups installed, and no other noticeable damage, cracks, or cloudiness. The strap pin has been installed on the back of the heel, but there is no history of a pickup being installed.
The neck grip is easy to hold with a gentle V-shape, the nut width is about 43mm, the string height is about 2.6mm for the 12F 6th string, about 2mm for the 1st string, there is about 2mm of saddle space, and there is also room for the truss rod, so the playability is good, including the neck.
When it arrived, it had a case without a brand logo, so we replaced it with a nostalgic Martin Old Replica Sigma case from our shop.
This is a custom model that is rarely seen on the used market! It is a masterpiece among masterpieces in terms of sound and condition!
