    1979 LS80 Reborn sighted

Yes multiple, seller says "Tokai LS-80 with multiple headstock repairs, it's pretty ugly but priced accordingly and functional. Pots, caps, tuners, and knobs are replaced, everything else is original."

Do you mean you are buying every ls100 guitar that pops up? I have one I'll sell you. Seriously, thanks for all the cool content you post here.

    I bought another Tokai.

Glad that one worked out for you. The one I saw was way more broken than yours.

    I bought another Tokai.

Good score, was that one on craigslist a few weeks ago up by Seattle?

    Special order LS50 paintjob?

Looks like a dang fine guitar whatever it is. Wow, did Tokai use super hot pickups like that in the early 1980's? I always thought they were half that, more like PAF. I haven't tried the Maxon made V-2's I have at around 16k in my Reborn yet.

    Les Paul Reborn & Refinished?

I have a 1979 Les paul Reborn LS100 that had a few toggle switch holes filled and refinished top in some sort of lemon burst. The seller told me more than once that it was all done at the factory, but I didn't think it true. The top is excellent but the hole fill wasn't a very good match.

    1980 LS50 BB

Even the tape on the case says LS50. Man, every time I see one of those green lined cases I WANT ONE!

    Inky Catalog Photo

Very interesting, I thought they were 1980-81. I have one with a 01 serial that's a very good guitar.

Nice guitar. Looks a lot like a Terada built T. Haruo I used to have.

    TOKAI TA-35

Good to know, I would have never guessed that one. Just buy an old Fender Pro Jr. and be done with it. :D

    Tokai Les Paul Reborn 1978 LS50 - value/spec info?

Nice! 3 piece top and back and 14 degree headstock angle but who cares. A real solid wood player that has all you ever need in a classic LP. Way good enough to gig with but not so nice that you're reluctant to take it out of the house or even the case to play it or bounce it on the stage a few...

    Tokai les Paul reborn

Something doesn't look right to me about this one being a 1978-1980. 3 piece top usually only on LS 50, but usually with multi piece back too. Single ring tuners have screw in bushings instead of press in, so headstock holes would possibly have had to been enlarged to fit those? Pickups have no...

Very Expensive Vintage LS-200s ? on YJ

Doesn't the "Tokai" logo look a little low on the headstock of that 1979? I guess they were all hand placed anyway?

    Can't ID this Tokai?

Bridge is the screw in to stud Nashville type too. Didn't Tokai use ABR-1?
