Hi to all!
I found a Fernandes Telecaster in what seems yo be candy apple red, with the newer, LE style headstock, slab rosewood fingerboard, and Kluson-style tuners. However, the body itself is not the usual Slab body found on most Teles; this one has the contours of a Strat, i.e. the arm cut...

Upgrade time for my Silver Star. I was able to find a set of U series pickups from my old Springy Sound that I thought I had sold off (the Springy now has "E" Series pickups), so these are going into my Silver Star. From what I have read here, the U series are supposed to be a tad...
Finally got to finish my set up.
Here are a few pics:

I may have to do a pickup swap/upgrade later, but for now, I like how it turned out =)

My progress so far... Bone Nut to replace the old one, and fret levelling and polishing. I changed the pickup covers, and I used some toothpaste to remove/polish out the scratches on the pickguard =)
Hi Peter, thanks for the info!
I was not aware that Silver Stars also had the brass grounding plate. Very Interesting. Would you have a pic of what the original electronics looked like? I tried the search function but I didn't find any.
Many thanks for the info! I will be keeping this stock, unless I find a set of "U" or "E" series pickups =)
I'm having a lot of fun setting this guitar up. I carved a new bone nut for it and I'm now levelling & polishing the frets.
A few questions that I have for my Silver Star:
1. Are the pickups, pots and switch original? I am not so sure because the pickups have no stamping on them. Also not so sure if the pots are original. The few photos I have seen here are of the "U" series (gray bottoms), also mentioned are the "V"...
Hi to all!
I found this Silver Star for sale 3 days ago, and I was lucky to get it at a low price. The guitar has a few issues, primarily with the logo, which has been damaged. the "7okai" and the word "Star" are visible, and the serial number is intact, but the word "Silver" has been...
Hi guys!
Thanks for the kind words...
So, probably SS36? Good to know...
Hi Iain, here are a few new pics I took of the Springy Sound:

Hi to All,
I posted a while back about my Springy Sound. Well, I have since added two more Tokais to my collection.
My 1981 Silver Star... I am unsure of what the model is, and I hope the Silver Star experts can help me ID it... The routing of the pickup cavities look squarish... I will...
Hi there Goose!!!
I also have the U stamped pickups in my Springy Sound...... They sound so good, I hardly play my Fender American Standard Strat anymore these days, and that one also sounds quite nice, just not as nice as the Tokai........ So much so that i am already considering changing...
Hi there Chet.....
I was finally able to take the neck off the guitar..... I didn't find anything stamped on the neck itself, but I found this serial number stamped in ink in the neck pocket itself......
Its a 5 digit serial number, but if you look closely at the pics, you can see that...
Hi guys, thanks a whole lot for your replies.....
I kind of suspected this was a 1990s guitar, thanks for confirming this, cmguitar.... by the way, would you know where these models were made? The guy i got it from said they shipped this guitar together with a few other guitars and amps...
Hi to All!!!
I recently bought this Fernandes stratocaster...... The body looks to be 3 piece solid wood, am not sure if it is Alder......
The headstock logo just says "Fernandes" and ""Electric Sound Research Group"..... This guitar does not have a Serial Number, only the brand...
Hi to all!!!
After reading Deadman and Japanstrat's comments on the Daphon E20OD, i was quite curious as to how close it would get to the TS-9 sound..... Well, i searched high and low for one, but the stores were always out of stock, and no one selling 2nd hand.....
Well, about a week ago, a...
HiThere.....
If I'm not mistaken, this is the same brand of guitars that has been reviewed in some issues of Guitar Buyer magazine.... Is the V100 a Les Paul style guitar, like a junior? i think it was reviewed before.... very good value guitars, so the reviews said....
Chum
Thanks a lot for all of your replies, guys....
Just reading through all the posts on this forum is like going to graduate school, i have learned a lot, and i now have a greater appreciation for all things Tokai.....
I'm enjoying my Springy so much these days, what a guitar!!!! My Fender...
Hi there....
I do have a few acoustics in my collection.... Most are japanese: a Yamaha red label FG 150, an Aria Folk Guitar with a bolt-on neck, a Takeharu Conservarte requinto, a korean Washburn EA-10 (looks a bit like the acoustic Nuno of Extreme used in the video for their song "More Than...
