    Tokai LS85F advice

Bloody hell - that's my handwriting on the box for the serial number!! So would have come through us originally. And no, they do not have cases with them unless supplied by the retailer directly. Brings back some memories.

    LS150 Quality Control

The guitar came from us actually and we are in the process of sorting the customer out as far as my colleague has told me today. I personally inspected and set the guitar up for dispatch and didn't spot either of these. Frankly not sure i'd ever pick up on the binding one as a red flag to be...

Tokai or Edwards, educated opinions welcome!

I suspect you are looking at the LS150 for the UK market. Which has solid flamed top. The Japanese site does not feature this model and instead has a plain top model which has a similar model code these days. Just to confuse you. A lot of the guys based overseas look more at the Japanese site...

    Ebay alert

Hmm...suspect Bob's got it wrong on this one - no FC on Korean. When production moved to China we started getting C and FC prefixes on the serial numbers. We have even had CH for a short time - now they don't have a prefix at all. To my honest knowledge - we never had Les Paul styles with...

    Plaintop LS150 vs. Flametop/Sunburst UK LS150

Assuming this is the "LS150" spec guitar we'd stock, then the Pick Ups are after-market. They come on the LS370, which is rocketing up the range somewhat. Top sound's correct. An entirely plausible situation.... If you would like forum members to help ID the guitar to make sure you get what you...

Japan. Everything from LS75 upwards is Japanese.

    Plaintop LS150 vs. Flametop/Sunburst UK LS150

Yes - all our guitars should have the modified headstock as a rule. In fact - all guitars distributed in Europe should have this headstock as per the legal agreement between Tokai and Gibson. The LS150 Flametop was requested by Bob at Tokai UK many years ago and is not featured on the Japanese...
