This one looks totally a real Made In Japan Tokai LCxx. The bridegposts are directly attached to the body without metal pushings. Also note te square shaped routings in microphone cavity. https://www.dvdplaza.fi/forum/media/albums/skittaroita.350/

My simplified scheme about this in finnish ;-)

Kaularauta = check the truss rod
Talla = Height of the post where the stricgs touch the body ;-)
I visited Tokyo last week. In Ochanomichu I met this beauty:

Love at first sight. She is also a good player, unlike me ;-)
I'll be travelling to Tokyo 15-21 Feb 2015. I'd like to buy a second hand Tokai, I'm interested in models older than 1988. I want to test the guitar and possibly have a beer with the owner ;-)
Hi. throwing the first stone ;-)
This guitar does not look good. In my opinion proportions of the head stock and the shape of the control cavity does not belong to a real Tokai. I would not buy this guitar as a genuine Japanese Tokai, which this one tries to pretend.

I'm not collecting guitars. IMO the neck repair is ok if done by a luthier known by me. Good players guitars wtih reasonable prices expected ;-) Offers accepted all the time. 600 quid is too steep depending on the manufacturing year.

I think I have the similar 59 microphones in my HES180 Tokai. Excellent all round microphones, maybe slightly less hot than the MK2 microphones in my LS160 guitar.
You are in a great position to reveal the secret behind these puppies ;-)

I bought a Kemper KPA last friday to complement or possibly replace my 11R. I have tested it now for two days, feels good and sounds good too. The dynamics are there and also the sounds that I have found have been very pleasing. A keeper ;-)
