Thanks Dave, very useful. I will take your suggestion. I have played through a Cube 30 but not the Vox. Andertons have both so I'll go down and check them out.

Thanks Dave, I'm really trying to kill a lot of birds here with the monitoring idea (one less box to carry), practice - no pedals needed - but also having something that takes up a little less room - fits under a fitted bench that the Junior would not etc. and can be used without getting a pedal boa...

Roland Cube 60

Hi Anyone out there using Roland Cube 60 or 80X?

I am thinking of getting one as a rehearsal amp. I sold my Blues Junior as it just was costing a bundle to keep in valves! I also thought this could double up as a vox monitor. Who has some experience and what do you think?

Re wire Tokai ES

http://www.gibson.com/Files/schematics/sheratonII%20wiring.JPG Try this link, I found the Epi diagram the most easy to follow I re-wired a Tokai ES 130 recently with CTS pots and Tonerider pickups - here is a link to the page I made to illustrate it. http://www.kevinyates.com/ES_335_re-wire/index.ht...

Gee, I have a Fender Blues Junior 10 years old, Jensen Speaker. Mine sounds like Cowgirls Crying, just fab. The controls are a bit wierd - volume is hair trigger up to 2-3 but after that it sings. Tone controls dont seem to do much so I turn back the treble to 7 and wind the rest up to max. It is on...

Yes be careful, especially with oil. I read an interview with bob Bennedetto who says oil and guitars do not mix - any seepage is irreversible and it dulls the sound. I've gigged a nitro finished Warmoth Tele for the last 5 years or so and it is some way along the 'Vintage' path already, buckle rash...

Tonerider Pickups Alnico 1V humbuckers ES 135

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIbOHQJU-p0 I recently fitted a set of Tonrider Alnico 1V humbuckers to my ES135. Check it out. They are really really good! At the same time I replaced the pots and caps with CTS/Sprague. Also for those of you looking to replace pots here is a link to a page that show...

pots

There is a post that addresses this - opinion seems to be that audio is good for all of them and has a better taper for volume - I installed 4 audio - has the same on off effect as you have - they all work really well

ES 130 POT replacement = CTS

Hi
The Alpha pots I removed have 10mm shafts! Remember this came off an ES 130 not a Les Paul type which may require longer shafts to get through the maple top. The ES laminated top is only 3.5/4mm thick. I am guessing you have a Love Rock or similar?

Hi Did 1st gig last night with this, it was good but I need to spend a bit more time playing around at higher volumes as this pedal seems to alter character the harder the amp is driven. I really like the hard edge it has, a raw quality that is missing from a lot pf pedals. I have a Fuzz Head too an...

Hi - I have played a bit more and it is now clear that the voice and treble control also affects the drive - increasing one increases the other - so these are dynamically connected. I guess that's why some have had trouble figuring out the Zendrive - by account, it shares this with the Yin Yang. Eve...

http://www.kevinyates.com/music/index.html Hi Andy Here are some sounds through the Yin Yang drive - usual naff playing on this lot, good enough to get an idea of the sounds available. DI'd through Edirol UA-3FX and straight into the Mac. I'm beginning to understand how it all works - the drive is s...

Hi Andy The clip above is just straight sounds to illustrate the Tele I made. I did it for a previous post. I will record another one tomorrow with the Yin Yang. It gets up into full overdrive territory, not quite fuzz - so subjective all this really. I'm still working with it, we rehearsed last nig...
