It's mentioned in Peter's book as 67 U neck with laminated maple board, square tree and no skunk stripe or teardrop.

Exactly.
The PB80 first appeared in 78 and 48, 60 in 79. The serial number looks more like an Aria # as Tokai didn't use the L until quite a few years later.
So an early pb 80 neck with frets removed for me and the rest is open to conjecture.

I guess you would need to know when each company had the commission to figure that out? Is it marked in some way? Don't mean to hi-jack the thread, but interesting subject with a Korean Tokai I think. A bit mysterious too. Sadly not, as they made a lot of kit for a lot of companies! Plus their own ...

The Samick and Peerless factories have made some great stuff. A lot is down to the commissioning company setting the specs and QI tolerances.
