    The mythical Greco egf 2500?

It's a scary price in and of itself, and kind of ridiculous for that particular guitar. I mean, it looks like a factory second or something. I've a hard time believing that the Fujigen QA department would release that for sale as an 1800? Something's not right here.

Impressive work and great write-up, Homer! Thanks very much!

    Greco SV 1800 from 1979 ?

"A model that doesn't exist" is always a difficult statement to make about Grecos, given that they ran a custom shop-like operation starting in 1972. There are countless weirdos, oddballs and unicorns out there (I know, I have a few of them), built for distributors, retail chains and end...

    1987/88 TST50 BB ?

Another odd detail: afaik 22-fret Strat necks usually retains the curve of the 21-fret fretboard end, this one ends in a straight line, like on a Tele.

    1987/88 TST50 BB ?

Hm. I thought there was something slightly odd about it... it's got a 22-fret neck. Seems mismatched with the otherwise vintage appointments?

(BUYEE.JP) Yahoo! Japan auctions, Rinkya, Jauce, etc.

I don't think they're really geared towards an amount of purchases in particular at all, tbh. I'm pretty sure their main business is in general Japanese popular culture items, anything from manga/anime stuff to fashion, so I guess they ship a lot of small stuff in bulk. I really don't know, but...

(BUYEE.JP) Yahoo! Japan auctions, Rinkya, Jauce, etc.

Zenmarket here, for abt eight years and approaching 200 instruments. I used Jauce before that but left since they didn't offer package consolidation at that point (I think they do now, though?), I was otherwise quite happy with their service. Zenmarkets "visible" fees are ridiculously low -...

    Some questions on a 75(?) Greco SE500

I can't for the life of me recall ever seeing a stock Greco SE with anything else but 250ks. That's not to say there never were any, they ran sort of a proto-custom shop from 1972 and were prepared to deck the guitars out as the customers (often retail chains, sometimes individuals) wanted, so...

    Some questions on a 75(?) Greco SE500

Yeah, pretty much. Good to keep in mind, it does create some wtf moments.

    Some questions on a 75(?) Greco SE500

Well no, not eaxctly. It was manufactured AND released to market in late 1975, but as part of the new 1976 range launched at that time. As far as I know the whole industry followed that convention, as does the auto industry, for instance. New stuff on offer in time for Xmas? Anyways, this...

    Some questions on a 75(?) Greco SE500

K75 is Nov 1975, which means it's almost certainly an early 1976 model. Next years range was launched late in the autumn, with production already up and running. A common cause of confusion when trying to ID guitars and the specs don't fit the serial year. Probably little if any difference...

    Some questions on a 75(?) Greco SE500

Japanese industry has always been solidly metric, and vintage Japanese Strat bridges take 5mm (M5) thread arms, with no exceptions I've ever heard of. A 10-32 arm might fit in the hole and be possible to wind down, but since metric and imperial thread pitch isn't the same, the steel arm will...

    Hello Hello

Yeah, I'm not surprised it's been further modded, if they have been externally, there's usually something going on inside as well. But otherwise: Greco SE's (I've had a couple of dozen through the years) very often still have the original Maxon Excel pickups installed, they're actually really...

    Hello Hello

Hi and welcome! There's no great mystery to it really, vintage MIJ guitars are simply that good. Especially the ones made for the domestic Japanese market. Like your Greco, they didn't export their stuff at all back in the day. Like @Sigmania said, there's forum section for Greco on here, go...

    Fernandes "Limited Edition" Gallery

Shaky Iphone 2ish video of one of the hooked Fernandes LE's owned and played by Robert Quine (yeah, the guy in my profile pic  ), one of several sold at the estate auction after he passed in 2002. Note the exotic John Suhr electronics. Quine had a number of earlier Revivals as well, one...
