    PRS Tokai

It was listed by L.A. Music, which is a Canadian Store, in Mississauga just west of Toronto. It is a Fakai. Proof is in the pictures - the back and front of the the head stock - "Make in Korea" and the one screw truss rod cover.

    "Make in Korea" HELP!

Welcome to the club. The one screw and the serial number were a dead give away. Here is my Canadian Fakai. It is actually a really good guitar. Trade value was $500 Cdn. But it came with upgrades, Rio Grande pickups, Grovers, bone nut, 50s wiring. A lot of people out there still don't know...

I googled Active Musical Products and got several listings in local business web sites. Two of them still had it listed as the distibutor for Tokai. Some of these could be unchanged for the last few years though. Active is (was?) located in Waterdown, Ontario, which is east of Toronto and north...

Made an additional searchon Kijiji Toronto and found two more Love Rock Fakais and Rosewood Tele - it had the one screw truss rod cover.

I just searched the local Craigslist for Tokai here in Toronto. I found 4 Fakais (including the one I traded for). There were two Love Rocks, a Hummingbird, and an SG. The SG seller even listed the serial # which was 05******. Guess they are common here in the Great White North.

I am actually bonding with my Fakai Love Rock here. It stays in tune better than any of my other guitars, including my Hamer USA P90 special. I like the sound of the Rio Grandes, but I can't get used ot 50s wiring. The previous owner spent more on upgrades than what this guitar is really worth...

    Fakai

I have just found out that I bought a Canadian Fakai Love Rock. Really good player. Previous owner added Grovers, bone nut, Rio Grandes, 50s wiring. Only thing I need to confirm is the pups. Wiring looks 50s, CTS tone pots, and caps that look like silver beer barrels. I'd really like to find...

So, it looks like I will have to change my tagline on some other forums. "... Fakai Love Rock" :D My enthusiasm for the guitar has diminished a bit, but not that much. I like this guitar as a player. I just won't be able to sell it - I'm not that type of person. I just won't mention...

Okay, it looks like I got a fake. But it's a **** good fake.

    How should it look? Thanks.

The back of the headstock looks just like the picture you posted. It says Serial # 0300***. If it is a fake, it is a **** good one. I'll post pics later and check the truss rod cover when I'm home.

Got this in a trade for an amp and some cash. Tokai Love Rock 2003 MIK. - upgrades included Rio Grandes (BBQ Bridge, Texas Neck), a bone nut, Grover tuner and 50s wiring. Traded away my Gibson GA5 LP RI and a weber speaker. When tried a few cords through my x-GA5, I loved the sound - it sounded...

    Shift from Korea to China?

When did Tokai shift it's production of it's economy line from Korea to China Thanks.

    Tokai SGs ???

I've rarely seen any Tokai SGs. Does anyone here have one? Would you care to post pics. I love the sounds of Love Rocks and ES guitars, but my hands love SGs.
