    NGD - 1978 LS80 OS

NGD! Just got my hands on a super clean copy of a 1978 Tokai LS-80 OS. For a 45 year old guitar it is in super nice condition. Serial # 8000337. It looks to be al original except for the strap buttons and MAYBE the neck pickup. I can't tell yet if the entire pickup was swapped or just the...

1978 LS-80 advice on those early 2-piece necks?

Hey there. I've got a chance to acquire a pretty clean 1978 LS-80 (everything original except for the neck pickup). I noticed the 2-piece neck on it. I know it's known that the earlier 77-78 LS80s had 2-piece necks before they went to the 1-piece neck. I'm curious what the thoughts on that...

NGD... my first Tokai. Did I do alright?

Thanks! That is why I was drawn to it. So many shiny flametops out there that it took a plaintop to really grab my attention. It has just a couple of little subtle hints of flame to it in a few spots which gives it some character. It is a Nitro semi-gloss that is almost so flat it looks...

NGD... my first Tokai. Did I do alright?

FedEx just dropped this gal off on my front porch. My first Tokai. I've been looking for one for quite some time and never found the right one at the right price. Found this LS196 EF-VF up for auction. Even though it was listed as new I figured it was (and expected it to be) used since it...

What is the best bang for the buck near my budget?

Ha. Thanks for the link. =) I wouldn't have been getting that one since it is quite a bit out of my range anyways. But good to know the back-story on it.

What is the best bang for the buck near my budget?

Sorry... I didn't take into account the international audience. =) 2-grand USD (United States Dollar). I'm in the US. I know I would have a bigger pool to fish in should I expand my search internationally, but would prefer to deal locally (continental US) if possible.

What is the best bang for the buck near my budget?

Been looking for my first Tokai. Stumbled upon a few here and there that have caught my eye... like this (advertised as) '02 LS-200. I won't be getting this one... bit out of my price range and the guy won't budge on price (might be why it has been listed for over a year). LINK I know...

Any way to verify this is indeed a LS150 from '02?

I appreciate all of the responses and help. I AM looking for a Tokai. But since I'm a Tokai n00b I'll definitely be running any potential purchase through you guys here first. Thanks again. The search continues. =) -BB

A little more info: Based on that info... pretty sure it is a LS70F?

Any way to verify this is indeed a LS150 from '02?

Are they usually labeled somewhere (control cavity... one of the pickup cavities) to make it easier to identify?

Any way to verify this is indeed a LS150 from '02?

Nah... if that is the case then I DEFINITELY want to hear it because that does make a difference. =)

Any way to verify this is indeed a LS150 from '02?

Looking at a Tokai advertised as a LS-150 from 02. Since to my knowledge Tokai doesn't put model identifiers on their guitars... is there any way to verify this is indeed a LS-150 from 02? For those of you more in tune with Tokais... what would you be looking for to validate the authenticity...

    Help identifying model and value?

Greetings. I'm new to Tokai's so I'm not really sure what I'm looking at here. Local listing. Guy says he thinks it is an LS60 or 65. Listing says: Has CN13... serial on the back of headstock. Any info and guidance you could provide as to model and value in your eyes would be...
