Discussion that is not Tokai or guitar focused.

I was in San Francisco on a Honeymoon with my first wife (lasted 3 years} There was a music store down by the wharf, Don Wiers Music city. They were selling new sunburst Strat hardtails for $199 it was an Impeachment Sale Special in honor of Richard Nixon. I bought one...wich leads me wonder why would Tokai make the Silver Star series? The 74 strat with the skinny neck, big headstock, 3 bolt neck was not a great guitar. I have that same strat from 74' back in my possesion. I gave it to a cousin of mine to use about 24 years ago and he just last week returned it to me! Now I see what the Silver Star is all about, it's a different animal than the rest! I'm having a blast playing this old guitar, you can't play it like a 4 bolt...but once I shimmed the neck pocket I was in 3 bolt heaven. So I guess I was wrong! My Bad! TG
