I just got a Greco V and I love it, but I'm curious about something. On the sides of the guitar there is a line running though it, like the body was glued together. Is that normal for Grecos? I always thought the Gibson Vs are a single cut of wood. The guitar is very light, weighing barely 6 pounds.

The serial number reads D825803 and the seller says 1982 so I'm assuming it's a 1982

I have owned several Greco Vs from the era :)

I recall two in particular: December, 1981 (L81****) & June, 1982 (F82****).

Both had this same 'pancake' thickness construction & both very nice. 8)

I did prefer the late '81 V more as the neck was set at a greater angle.
