1984 GoldStar Sound model Number?

Post by Caudicus » Thu Sep 06, 2018 11:31 pm

I bought a Tokai 1984 GoldStar Sound second hand but I didn't ask what the model was i.e. TST50 etc. Is there anyway I can find out by looking at the guitar?

The tuners, and if you look under the hood at the pickups etc... Take a few pictures and put em up.

the pick ups are not original and have been swapped out at some point in time so that probably makes it difficult to determine the model.

Thanks for any feedback

I'm not an expert but i think it's at least a ST50, anything lower and they had different tuners. Have to see the back of the scratchplate and the routing for any more info.

You could also look in the control cavity where the production stamp is.
That would also give an indicator depending on the letters used.
Looking at the Alder body, it's a pretty safe bet this is a TST-50 YSO.
The world will not end today...because it is already tomorrow in Australia.
