i have just bought a blackstar 4 x 8 cab to put my ht 1 r through as on the back it has an output for an external cab .
I also would like to put my peavey vyper through it at some point but this doesn't have an output for a cab but it does have a headphone socket, i've tried that and it doesnt work well.
what i was thinking was tapping the speaker cables on the peavey and joining them to a guitar cable .
Q- would the pos for the speaker go on the centre core and the neg to the sheilding ? |

Don't use a shielded instrument cable for speakers. The shielding wire is inadequate for the power from an amplifier. You'd be better off using some 2-core insulated mains cable, like the stuff used for lighting (5-10 amps rating). Positive to tip of jack plug and negative to sleeve. |
