Mick,

What tips you off that it is Tokai made? I'd look for a "transitional" or "medium" tenon and square bottom routes in the pickup route, neither of which this one has. It also has the volute which I thought was pure Greco (when on Grecos of course). What do you see that tells you Tokai? I'm wondering because I'm pretty sure that I have a Tokai made Greco and don't want to be wrong about that!

It's easy to be confused because Grecos are confusing and no one knows the whole Greco story. The Tokai made Grecos don't have a serial and have square pickup cavity routing holes and a medium tenon http://www.tokaiforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=10362&start=0
The no serial Grecos with a square ended tenon and brick nut etc seem to be from Cort.

The rounded tongue is what i was looking at, Tokai greco's all have this type of tenon, and the split diamond with the split centre block is another Tokai thing...

Hi Japanstrat, it has a "G" serial could this be linked to Terada ??
Just when you think you are getting a handle on things....something else pops up...

G=July. It has a 1988 Fujigen Greco serial G88XXXX same as the Fujigen Ibanez's. Another thing is that Fujigen were getting some necks made at Atlansia in Japan in the 1980s so some Fujigen necks might not match other Fujigen necks.
