Why doesn't this have a Gibbo shaped headstock???

I'm interested...but why doesn't this have a Gibbo shaped headstock???

I don't know why, but I think there were quite a few Greco's of that era with that headstock design. I found a catalogue (linked from another thread on this forum somewhere a while back) full of Les Pauls from prior to '83 with that same headstock..........

I'll go see if I can find the link again.............
 
there are pics in my Japan Vintage books of Grecos with that headstock going back to the mid 70s...not rare not unusual not a sign of a lesser Greco. They had quite a few headstock designs actually, another Japanese acoustic builder, Sadao Yairi, used several headstock shapes too. The Greco I got from this decade has that headstock too, kind of a retro thing I guess.
