Big thanks to Innadaze and Japanstrat.

Innadaze on the few models you have with the circuit board HB pickups would you say that the tonal quality is similar to the current make 57 Gibson HB? Do you like the circuit board PU?

From Innadaze's description between a reissue ObG versus a standard ObG, I learned that the two 335s I posted are not 100% original. Hopefully I got this correct. Please correct me if I am wrong.

The 93 ?reissue? model has fret edge binding, a blank truss rod cover, but chrome die cast tuners (no deluxe style).

The 89 ?standard? model has no fret edge binding, deluxe style tuners, but a blank truss rod cover (no standard label).

Out of all the OBG Semi Acoustics I've seen, they all have a G serial and all of the Orville Semi Acoustics I've seen have a J serial. There might be occasional exceptions but I havn't seen one yet.

If I remember well, some ObG accoustic have an A serial ( but I saw only a few, maybe a special run for a shop or something like that? I saw a Dove model with that kind of serial a few years ago), some also have the classic fujigen serial with no letter ( I remember a j-200), but it's not the majority.

Yes, the Acoustic serial numbers on labels vary a bit. There is G and AG and maybe no letter. I think it depends on who did the label typing. The Acoustics were probably all made by Terada because Terada make Acoustics so unless there was a reason for Yamano to change factories for some of the Acoustics it looks like Terada made them. Fujigen stopped making Acoustics around 1981.

The G and J serial numbers and the K sticker on the solid bodies are easy to trace because of the way Terada routes the solid bodies. The same goes for the no letter Fujigen solid bodies. All of the Semi Acoustics are either G serial OBG's or J serial Orvilles from what I have seen and the G and J serial solid bodies are made by Terada and the same would go for the G and J serial Semi Acoustics and Terada are a Semi Acoustic/Acoustic specialist factory so it all makes sense.

On some Semi Acoustics there is a G or J letter ink stamped serial number but sometimes Terada leaves it off and there is just a G or J label serial number.

HA, possible, at one time Terada had 3 plants so it can vary from one plant to another.
