Guys,

Does anyone know if one-piece bodies were only found on the higher end SE strat models (say 1000, 1200) or did they occasionally appear on all models??

Only the high end Greco SE have a 1 piece

Cheers - I had seen that site - its got some pics in too but still a bit confused. Mark's site shows a nice natural SE800 that appears to have a 1-piece body - its difficut to tell (even in the flesh sometimes) - I have a nice SE that In am trying to identify (1 piece body) - will post some pics.

No its a tobacco burst, maple neck, very yellowed pickguard. Definately one peice body - I can spot a join even when its hard to. By the way, I think the one piece construction adds some weight (this one comes in at about 8lbs 11oz) - theres some heated debate about the merit of weight and tone - personnaly I think it isnt an absolue that light is always better. I have both ends of the spectrum . This one doesnt "feel" heavy and is pretty resonant, nice vinbtage vibe too. Made in Nov 78. Will post pics if I can make it happen.

my 600 series is 4 pieces, 700 is 2 and my 800 is 2 pieces joined off center.

Thanks guys - a picture is beginning to emerge. Looks like 600 , 500 and 480 would not have 1-piece. Think mine is probably an SE800 then which is what it was sold as some time ago - thing is (although 1-peice) it didnt really match the catologue exactly since (with maple boeard) it had 11 screw guard. Dont think the 1-piece makes any differnece really - have 3-piece that sound as good if not better.

Nice light today so will try and get photo outside (cant seem to get decent pics with flash).

Great site - thanks!
