Anyone else ever here of this?

Dana

Dana I don,t know it,but I was told they made them under Piare brand for export.

I once saw a Grandy Les Paul on a jp Tokai fan site. So I think it was built in the same factory like some of the late '70 Burnys which are identical to Reborns.

So can someone tell me who made what and where. Like what factories were involved and what brands they produced.

I guess someone already has but........... :-?

I know that Ibanez and Greco came from the same stable and I think Tokai and Burny were bench-buddies but ended up with different logos.

What about Aria?

A factory family tree may come in handy Ned?

Lee, Aria guitars brand were made in Matsumoto factory,no longer active.

Aris made some great guitars back in the late 70's. Like the RS850 and the PE1000/1500 models.

Here's some info on the "big boys" on the block making guitars...
"But imagine two football fields under one roof, and then multiply that by six. In addition, the company has an adjacent 100 acres ready for expansion."
Lots of guitars! (I've heard 400 brand names are being produced now...)

Just for info. there is a site all should take a look at if you are interested in some great made in Japan 70's And 80's Aria,Electra, and other well made Guitars from the Japanese Market. http://www.therathole.org/guitars/guitarlist.html

Barry because a price(around 80.000 yen) and looks it could be made in Japan, but not sure.Edwards are Gibson mid-price replicas from ESP.The logo is n,y pretty at all and headstock shape is not as accurate as Tokai.

Surfing on the web looking for tokai dealers made me go to this page:

Check the name on the headstock!

Very interesting Cosmitron. And it looks like it says "Love Rock Model" in script too on the headstock. Perhaps it may be worth my wild to see if i can find one of these around and check it out.

Just found this thread. Never have seen a Grandy in person.
Navigator is the high end ESP, the grass roots I saw were MIC. Edwards , as far as I know are MIJ... they just relaesed a line of very nice looking, in the catalog, strats and teles... Duncan pups alder and ash bodies etc. Will reprt when I can get my hands on one or two. I agree there seems to be a link between Zephry and Bacchus, which are part of the Deviser corporation along with Riverhead. I own several Bacchus strats and teles along with a Les Paul jr type... all are very well made, and I swapped pups in some for Van Zandts and Duncans and they are now top notch guitars. Some interesting links here, I`ll have to check on them later after work. Gotta go... bye.
