London Barry-I don't know. I don't drive a Ford Escort, and I favour relaxed brogues over Nike Air. I have lived in Essex since I was 8 though, and having fought the stereotypes for first decade I have learnt to embrace and even love the jokes and fun poked at me for my geographical placement within the UK.

Cornelius (actually a product of Kings Lynn)

Gregert, if it makes you feel any better my wife laughed her tits off when she saw that last post.
(She's from Essex too Barry, but she went to university so she doesn't count)

This is all cods wallop! You can either play or you can't.

Strat?s, Tele?s, Les Pauls, 335?s. These are all just bits of wood that are screwed and glued with strings on.

Stop disappearing up your own bum holes and get on with it!!

This is really getting interesting - 'scuse me I'm a little drunk but what the hell - What's wrong with Essex?!
Remember I'm Norwegian...........

Kinda. It does add an extra dimension to the guitar. My mate Jeff done it on a 'Heart' Tele (made by Tony Rosselle and Steve Smith back in the 80's) and it sounded pretty good if memory serves me correctly.

Funny what you said about the layout on the Tele for the Volume and Tone controls and switch. I swap mine around so the volume control is where the switch would normally be and the tone pot is in the middle with the switch at the back. I just find it easier for doing the Violining type thing that's all.

I also prefer a higher action on a Tele as opposed to a Strat.

It's all subjective stuff eh?

Sorry lads I've been away 'cos I didn't get no e-mails about new posts.
Gregert, In Essex if you own a BMW (and it really doesn't matter how ****** and beat up it is) you are the equivalent of royalty. I think that just about sums it up, not that I have anything against BMWs, but 1989 BMW 3 series trumps a 2002 peugeot 307 every time here on the desirability stakes and that just doesn't make any sense.
There is a lad who lives in my village who spends every wekend repairing the front spoiler on his Nova which is about 20mm off the ground. It does nothing for the handling but he wants to keep it because 'it looks cool'. This despite the fact that 50% of the time it is trailing on the ground because it is broken. That is what is wrong with Essex.
However, get north of Chelmsford and you are into some of the prettiest countryside in the country in my opinion and for that I forgive the county all it's sins
I am happy to argue with anybody about this if the mood takes them.

:D I believe it was Ian Dury who said " I'm from Essex as if you could'nt tell, My name is BillerRicky Dicky and I'm doing very well!" Laughed my Tits off in Dallas! Cheers!

I never saw that in there and I have eyes like a Hawk.

Cool amp though. SRV used to blast them too I believe. I've had a couple of those in the recent past. I used to shove my Custom Audio straight in the front end for a blinding tone. Only sold the Super PA cause I bought a Bass Plexi. That's gone too now.

Yes now I'm with yer. Well it's still a good buy then even though it's ugly. Come to think of it I do recall that sitting there for a while. I must pay more attention in future  .

There's something about a Telecaster that is very hard to define. It's so simple but it can be a right ******* - the bridge pickup sound is like nothing else (the Esquire only had the bridge pickup). If I get to Heaven, and part of the deal to get in was to authentically reproduce all the intros to all the rock anthems ever, I'd ask the Lord for a Telecaster to do it with.

It's only got two pickups and no trem, but it's the most versatile guitar ever invented. Tear yer head off treble to throaty warm blues to country rock. What more could a boy want?

Oh, were back on the Strat /Tele thing again. Plus, what a sad day to put your first post up nakamichi
