First post and hello to everyone here!

Just bought my 2nd Tokai a few hours ago and could use some help to figure out the model of my new Tele.
It looks like one of those black 1984 TTE-models but which one and am I right with the year? Previous owner thought that this guitar would be 1984 TTE too. It?s very easy to play and sounds great.

A friend of mine, who worked in guitar shop which started importing Tokais 1985, had never seen this model before.

- Body, neck and headstock painted black (headstock Fender shaped with silver colored text: Tokai "Breezysound" decal)
- Rosewood fingerboard with 21 frets and silver colored dot markers, white plastic nut and white plastic fret markers on the side of the neck
- Golden hardware, Tokai stamped on the bridge plate (7 screws mounting, a saddle for each string), Deluxe stamped Kluson type tuners, 1 golden 2-string retainer, 3-way switch and volume and tone controls
- Strings through body
- 3-ply (b-w-b) pickquard with 8 screws
- 6 number serial on the golden neckplate (4 screws)
- Alder body and maple neck
- One black single-coil pickup in bridge with chrome colored magnets and one single-coil pickup with golden cover in neck position
- C-shaped neck

I tried to describe the guitar as well as possible, images are here:

Thank you all in advance! :)

EDIT: Thanks to Gottfried for identifyind this BreezySound. TE-55G ABR 1984 - 1986. :D

Here's my 84 Breezy from an earlier post for comparison. Yours looks pretty nice....

Hi Joukov,

the photos are not very clear but to me it looks like a TTE-60 RR.
Alder body, stained a cherry-brown to resemble rosewood.
The headstock is painted black, but without clearer pix, it is hard to really determine. Details for this model are available on the Catalogs section of the Registry, also a serial number will probably help to determine a year as well as the body stamps.

Hi Joukov,

what do think - is it possible for you to post some close-up-pics from the headstock front and back???

... and give us the serial ??

Would help!

Roger

BTW : it looks like the Tele-version of the black strat at a different posting - you posted also on this one !! An anniversary-version ??
I mention this because I owned an all black '94 Fender Tele from the 50th anniversary.
Yours reminds me of a big mistake of mine - to sell it!!

Roger

I'll try to loan a camera from my friend.

You can see the serial yourself, it's in the third picture. ; ) What I understood, only Tele with 6-number serial is TE200R which has rosewood body.

Back of the headstock, nothing but vertical striped Deluxe klusons.
From the frontside, BREEZY SOUND text has been rubbed off, you can still see it if you look carefully but the coloring is gone.

I will open her up when I need to change the strings.

Tokai Funeral yesterday 3rd of May, 2007.

My precious Breezy TTE-55G found a new home, pro musician here in Helsinki, Finland.

All is not so bad, got a G&L Comanche in exchange. Rock keeps rolling!! :D
