Purchasing New Direct from Tokai - Suggestions/Recommendations

Hello - new to this board.

I have been researching purchasing a new Love Rock or ES model from Tokai.

Does Tokai sell direct or do you have to go through a distributor?

What is the shipping/receiving experience like? Should I be concerned about receiving a guitar being shipped overseas during the summer due to heat possibly damaging the guitar?

Tokai does sell direct. I have ordered 6 or so guitars direct from them. I live in America and they ship to me. Except for the Gibson type guitars which they cannot sell direct to the USA (Gibson lawsuit from the 80s). For those I have gotten them sent to a relative in another country then forwarded to me. You can email:

for more info on ordering. When I order stuff I always get it pretty custom. They take a 50% deposit when ordering then the remaining 50% when it is done. I order nitro finishes so they take around six months to make.

When you email I would ask for Shohei Adachi. He is the president of Tokai.
