I just had to send him a little message:

I'm hoping you are not really informed on what you are selling - rather than knowingly misrepresenting it. First off, it's not made in Japan. The white body cavity covers indicate that (MIJ are always black) and the all black, three hole truss rod cover indicates MIK, MIC or a fake. MIJ are always two screws and two ply cover.

There's no model 2400. There is an LS240 but that is a recent mid 2000's model. Not even close to your 1990's statement. So you may want to pull that listing or update it accordingly. Not only is it a fake "re-logo'd" Gibson but it's even more of a fake MIJ Tokai.

I just wonder what it could be ?? It has Fret-Edge binding so that rules out even most of MIJ Tokai let alone the Koren or Chinese offerings just to begin the symphony of what's messed up with this guitar. Didn't some Chibson's start coming out with models that had FEB ?? It could be one of those with a hella spin.

Not sure if this is a super real to be honest. Serial starts with a 2 so it could be one. But 850 or 1000 or 1200 who knows ? I would not trust someone who is trying to tell people that dry82 and dry z are the same... asked him about it and of course no reaction

There are no elements hostile to the guitar culture. In the flow of acoustic energy, there is a good sound with a sloping characteristic towards the low frequencies. The massive spruce in the top brings to the sound the enchanting symbolism of acoustic flesh, while the rosewood sides and back denote the bass range as an architectural dominant. The adult sound of a professional instrument spurs creativity, deepening consciousness and reconciliation with the acoustic power of the dreadnought. Straight neck, adjustable truss, scratches and abrasions, characteristic rear mound that does not affect sound. That shop manages to find the most ugly 'customisations' ever. Anyone remember the Love Rock with a boobs-n-pubes paint-job? It was like a Spinal Tap prop. Can't believe anyone bought that!

Still for sale....

This seller is insisting this is a Tokai Springy neck.

Even after I politely gave him a heads up pointing out the truss rod adjustment and the neck volute. I didn't even mention the fact that it is a slab board...

Here is his response:

"The Tokai neck is absolutely Genuine , I had a Tokai expert aka SRV’s set up tech Don Opperman work on it, the pickguard isn’t original not the pickups or keys , But Neck & Body are . And what Volute , also it’s a very old one , But thanks for your opinion,"

Listing description:

"Tokai Stratocastoer Springy Sound ( W/Case). Has Been Reliced Slightly to resemble SRV’s Strat and was actually set up by SRV’s Guitar Tech Donnie Opperman , Just Paid $100. For Set up , Comes with TKL case , Has USA pickups ,Vintage Style Fender Tuning Keys , Sounds Superb , ask any questions,"

Yeah…. Guessing a Fender "Vintage" series body or at least neck plate.

I can't imagine that Fender ever made a '62 style slab neck with the truss rod adjustment on the headstock like that. Certainly no Springy ever looked like that.

The ST70R was the only Springy that had a slab board and they look like this:

And here is the headstock on one of my old V series Fullerton Strats from 1983.
