I know nothing about Tokai Vs. I would assume they are the same at the Love Rocks with SN. I contacted the seller he says it does not have a SN. My guess it would be on the back of the head like the LS series.

Does this sound fishy to you guys?

Are they stamped somewhere else on these guitars? How do I know if this is MIJ vs China, Korea etc?

From seller:

No serial number on the guitar, we are trying to do some research on her, but I would guess it’s a mid 90s see attached photo for pickup info

No serial plus 3 screw truss rod cover equals Korean, most likely mid to late 90s.

Way over priced.

Edit: model number FV48, it's in the 1999 catalogue

Thanks for the info. The Gibsons has 3 screw truss rod covers for the flying v. Thought it might be the same for the MIJ Tokais.

So, I guess this is what the MIJ ones look like right?

original 1958 Gibson Flying V has the two screw truss rod cover/holes.

the later versions from the 1960s did eventually have the 3 screw cover/holes but then those examples looked nothing like the originals; completely different animal.

My white 84 FV 68 has 3 truss rod cover screws (scroll down thread for pics)

I have a Gibson one 67 reissue from 2000. Never had a Korina one. I know there are pretty different to the 67 ones.

The Gibson one I have is pretty regular with Gibson quality. Which IMO sucks compared to the quality of the Tokai or other MIJ (Fujigen etc) guitars that I have. I used to really like the Gibson V but after playing my MIJ guitars the Gibson V is a POS compared to them.

@marcusnieman

That is what I was thinking the Tokai v's would have. Forgot the Korina ones would be different.

@togps

That one looks nice. I am in America. That one is pretty pricey with the conversion. Looks like a 2012 model. I wonder if they have any of those left at tokai.
