Hi,
Looking at a Tokai SG3 it has a 6 figure serial number and 3 screws on the truss rod cover is this a MIJ? I am thinking it has to be Korean or possibly made in China? How is it possible to tell. Seller says it's Japanese but what evidence should I be looking at?

Post photos if you have any. But it sounds like you've answered your own question and you're right to be suspicious.

3 screw TRC means MIK/MIC.

It's on eBay the seller is adamant that it is a MIJ.

ask what humbuckers are in it, with a pic of the back of one, and for a picture of the control cavity pots and caps... but i am not sure on the pics provided ..until i see the extra pics i would stay my hand...

You see that sort of thing quite often. People are either out to make a dishonest profit or were fooled themselves when they bought it.

The 3 screw TRC combined with slotted bridge posts says to me that it's definitely not MIJ. Photos as villager suggests would be useful in making the final determination.

I would just look elsewhere. You can get a really good deal on MIJ stuff on Buyee

FGN and History also make great MIJ SGs

Thank you everyone.
I can see no evidence that it is MIJ.
The seller is adamant it is a MIJ.
I'm walking away.
Hopefully no one else buys it believing it to be a MIJ.
I know the seller is convinced but this is to his financial gain. It's in his interests only as he can benefit from selling it as a MIJ. Even if he's in denial he's not taking on board what I have told him regards MIK and MIC.

He'll end up the loser if he sells it on Ebay and the winner finds out his listing is incorrect. If you don't know what you have don't guess...

It may be worth pointing him in the direction of this thread and reporting the listing to ebay as misleading. His terrible punctuation and all caps writing style say to me he probably won't listen to a word you say but at least you'll have done all you can.
