I just have these three pics from seller. The tuners are changed, otherwise it's original as far as he knows. I just want some opinions of what you guys think of this.

The nr on the pups seems to be correct for the Maxon serial system IMO, but I'm not sure about the electrics inside. Did Maxon have different models at this time? I know that EG700 should have U-2000, but that was a bit later on, right?

Edit: I found a catalog from -78, U-2000 pups appearently should be in this guitar.

Well, it turned out that I bought this old LP. Actually my first Les Paul model. I've had a Tokai SG for some years now, but this more massive and heavy body makes a difference.

The quality is so appearent on these old japanese axes though. I've no idea how U-2000 Maxon pups are supposed to sound compared to other pups, but they sound great in my little home amp. Can't wait to try it out on my brother's 100w amp with a 4x14 box though.

Late answer here.

Yeah, regarding the string ends - I've no idea. I didn't notice that from sellers pics, and when I got it home I didn't ask him what kinda strings this would be with these somewhat odd ends.

Below are some crappy mobile phone close ups.

I'll try these on for a while, then I have a set of D'Addario NYXL which I'm curious to try out.

However; strings, schwings - whatever. What I really need is to get use to a quite heavy LP when playing my usual crap lol.
