Ha ha ha, poor old collectors!
That's the case you use only in the house to move your burst from one room to another. :D

The price hurts, but the rarity is high, so it's probably worth it for the person that wants one.

That is app what I got for my 58 LP Std Cali case.
5 people were desperate to buy it.
Its easier to sell those cases at top prices than to sell a high end Japanese Lester at a top price.

Yeah, collectors have no choice, but no player would ever bother with a crappy 60+ year old case.

Even if I had the late 50s GT or Burst to go in one of those cases I wouldn't be interested in an original case.
Unless... I was going to sell the guitar and I had won the lottery, then maybe...

Hoho!

I worked with Dick Taylor for 4 years in the Pretty things 1990-94 and remember both his ESPs - this could in fact be one of them (the spare) - its an ok guitar.

The other was fantastic with Gretsch type block inlays at the edge of the fretboard.

I nearly was given one too, but the deal fell through as we could not get to the dealer during the tour, but I was always happy with both my Tokai's (strat and LP) that I still use to this day.

Dick still lives on the Isle of Wight...so I wonder if its him selling it.
Must inquire.

Barks

ps. Here is a (rather crappy) picture of one of my tour poster memorabilia from that time which shows Dick playing one of the ESP.s

Hmmm once you get of stupid street you would find it was a ukulele probably been slowly ripped apart by the tension of acoustic guitar strings rather than 4 nylon ones. Maybe that's why it's so rare LOL

Nice find

That explains a lot! I'd always thought people were playing an AIR guitar (not a brand that I'd come across). Now I realise it's a ARIA. I didn't know they did an acoustic version.
