hi, happy new year,

i've noticed most questions that are always asked here are about the age, model, circa, serial numbers, n=n, etc. most problems perhaps pertains on how we can ID our tokai".

my questions are:
- are there indicators where we can base a conclusion about the ID's of a
tokai?
- if there are, what are they?
- is the hallow spaghetti (fender type) logo with an inverted "7" instead of
a regular capital "T" an indicator? what does it mean?
- the number on the neckplate? can we use that as an indicator? how?
- the number = another number inside the guitar, what is it?

Beatriz,

Yes there are indicators and most of the answers are found on the main site www.tokairegistry.com but I'll try and answer your question below.

For LPs its serial number, also the highest fret usually contains a model number. Some times there are body cavity markings that indicate this as well. Really lucky people still have the model number sticker on the back of the headstock

- is the hallow spaghetti (fender type) logo with an inverted "7" instead of
a regular capital "T" an indicator? what does it mean?
"7" indicates age. The 7 is older than the T

- the number on the neckplate? can we use that as an indicator? how?
Number on the neck plate will ID what Fender year and model is being copied.

- the number = another number inside the guitar, what is it?
This may indicated model, some times year.

thanks ned,

you said the number on the neckplate will ID the fender model & year being copied.

can i post the serial# of my tokai at the fender forum to ask them the fender model & year?

Actually if you go to www.tokairegistry.com and under Dating & ID there is a Fender section that has that information.

Ned
